Remember that we are meeting this Saturday
February 20, at 7:30, in the Welcome Center. The Great Commission
Consultation is also this weekend (for several people, beginning at 9:00),
but our meeting will not be in conflict.
Speaking
of the Consultation, this Sunday February 21 we have our special consultation
team here and we will have a report time at 1:00 pm. Remember there is a
free lunch provided for those staying for this report meeting.
Painting
the Second Floor: Would you step up to the plate and help paint the
second floor of the educational building? Set aside March 5-6, and check
out the bulletin board to sign up. We need about 30 volunteers... from
classes, the King's Carpenters team, and the Men of Steel to make this
happen.
If
You're BINDing: Keep up your good work! We are now over halfway toward
our goal. If you have gotten behind or never took the challenge, it's time
for a fresh start. The New Testament reading begins on Day 68, which
is on
March 11, 2010. Consider taking the challenge of finishing the New Testament
before Easter.

speaker. Mark your calendar; this is not to be missed. Sign up on the

This summer, get a baby sitter and mark your
calendar for Saturday, July 24, 9:00 - 3:30, for the Love and Marriage
Conference 2010. Men, it's time for marriage enrichment with
internationally known authors, speakers and psychologists, Drs. Les and
Leslie Parrott. They are going to be at London Bridge Baptist along with
Dr. Gary Chapman. More KGBC information is coming soon, but for now, you
can go here to read
more about the event. It's only $90 per couple, and face it, you and your
wife need this!

When Rebellion is a Good Thing

Rebellion occurs when oppression reaches a
level that we can no longer tolerate in good conscience. It occurs when
our vision for extraordinary living is more compelling than our urge for
comfort and status quo. Materialism, toys and pleasure numb us while
distraction and apathy work on us from the inside. Complacency will not
help us to fight the good fight of faith (1
Timothy 1:18, 6:12).

Outsourcing
Our Faith

Brian Mosley, president of BluefishTV, had an interesting article about our living in the age of outsourcing. We pay someone to change our oil, cook our food, care for our yard, clean our clothes and anything else we don’t want to do. And of course we’ve all read the news reports of companies outsourcing business needs to countries around the world. So, he asks, “Is it possible that we are outsourcing our faith?”
We live in a consumer-driven culture that tells us that the customer is number one. The customer is always right. I can have it my way. I deserve the best. Consumerism has also crept into the church and turned church members into customers. The church exists to serve me and my family. To meet my needs. To feed me spiritually. To provide relationships for me. I dare say, to entertain me?
