There are many ways to get
involved in Missions at King's
Grant. This is a small sample of the
opportunities.
Edward and Maria Brown -
The Disciple Tour
Our own Ed and Maria Brown are on
a "mission from God," but
quite different than the Blues
Brothers. They do not take this assignment
lightly, hoping that in their
travels they will grow closer to
God, grow closer to the lost, and
grow closer to the members of King's
Grant as we read about their
adventures. [ The
Disciple Tour ] Maria also will
be writing about what she learns
from the Lord through her study in
God's Word, using the Bible to face
life's challenges [ Mondays
With Maria ].
Eastern Shore Mission Trip
This is our annual mission trip to
the Hispanic community around Cape
Charles, on the
Eastern Shore. We spend the day with our friends
and conduct an
outreach event to help Mision Bautista de
Cape Charles and pastor Saul Hernandez.
In 2009, we worked in Mappsville VA [ See
2009
Video ].
The King's Builders -
Mission Trip
This year the King's Builders will travel to Tyrone PA to
build a new worship facility for the congregation at Grace
Baptist Church. Tyrone is an older but growing bedroom
community located halfway between Altoona and State College
PA. Grace is 139 years old and currently meets in a 58 year
old facility in the heart of Tyrone. Get more information,
and how to get involved, by downloading
this document. The last page is your official
registration page, which needs to get to Billie and Gwen
Reed.
The King's Builders trip for 2009
was June 28 - July 4, and went to
Monroe Ohio, between Dayton and
Cincinnati. [ See

Operation Inasmuch
Each October we help to share the
love of Jesus through hands-on
ministry and community impact
mission projects. Dozens of projects
were accomplished in October 2007. [

The next Operation Inasmuch is
scheduled for October 16, 2010. Mark
your calendar and join us that
Saturday!
Union Mission Ministries
Recently, the Men of Steel have
gone to the Union Mission's new
location to help ready the place for
the move to their new location. This
group was the primary
focus of our Operation Inasmuch on
October 17, 2009.
Operation Christmas
Child
Each year we help to share the
joy of Christmas and the joy of
Christ to needy children throughout
the world, who otherwise would not
experience the giving spirit of
Christmas. The church
members generally provide 85-90 shoe boxes!
Judeo-Christian Outreach
Center
Adults as well as youth help to
provide and serve food for those in
need at the Judeo Christian Outreach
Center in Virginia Beach. Dates for
2010 are June 24, July 8 and August
12.
Meals on Wheels
Several of our members deliver
meals to individuals or families who
are unable to provide a nourishing
meal on their own.
Little Neck community churches
help the Red Cross facilitate a
blood drive in our community. To
alleviate waiting in line you are
able to schedule an appointment by
signing up at the welcome center
table or by calling the church
office. Signups begin about two
weeks prior to the event. The
location moves every two months
through the six Little Neck area
churches.
The drives are always
1:00-7:00pm, in these locations for
2010:
- January 11 - King's Grant
Presbyterian
- March 15 - Prince of Peace
Lutheran
- May 17 - Lynnhaven UMC
- July 19 - St Nicholas Catholic
- September 20 - St Aiden's
Episcopal
- November 15 - King's Grant
Baptist
Winter Shelter at King's
Grant
The membership here at King's
Grant Baptist Church plan and
execute a shelter one week each year
for those who do not have a home.
This effort is coordinated through
the Volunteers of America
organization. [ Read
the Shelter Report ] The dates
for 2011 are January 26 - February
2.
Disaster Relief
We serve God through assisting to
serve others after a natural or
national disaster. If you would like
to contribute to a disaster relief
project, you can make your check
payable to King's Grant Baptist
Church and designate "Disaster
Relief " in the bottom corner.
The church has aided others all
across the country, including those
affected by hurricane Katrina, and
more recently hurricanes Ike,
Edouard, and Rita. Virginia Baptists
have recently responded to rain
floods in West Virginia and
Nashville. Many people in the
congregation are trained to respond
to a regional disaster, and are
ready to mobilize when the need
arises. Learn more here.
World Changers
We support the effort of
volunteers who come to the Tidewater
Area to assist in several projects
during the summer. These building
projects are vital to urban renewal
in our area, and to personal renewal
through Christian volunteers who
serve here during these weeks. This
is hands-on ministry that manifests
itself in sharing the love of Christ
in these communities.
Global Missions
Information
We desire to bring all peoples of
the world to faith in Jesus Christ,
and one way is to pray for
missionaries and unreached people
groups. [ Get
