  Military Members Ministry

The Military Ministry is now underway, although we are in the planning stages. The goal of the ministry is to reach out to members of the military through support, assistance, guidance and hands-on help through various stages of life. Use the "Military Helpdesk" card found in the Information Center so we can keep up with our military personnel. Your contact person for the Military Ministry is retired Army LTC Terrence Farrier. Please use this form to get on the mailing list.

  Military Ministry Update

At a previous meeting, we made some headway on discussions concerning what support from the church might be needed such as: childcare when emergencies occur, food for shut-ins and the recovering, bereavement counseling, drug abuse referrals, loneliness, indebtedness, knowing who and approximately when a military individual is deployed, referrals for home/auto repair, more information for the military on the church website, deployment/redeployment counseling for the military member and spouse, requests to contact the military member when deployed, an awareness of our bachelors and bachelorettes, making contacts with both military chaplains and family support groups, and providing a specific information kit for the military at the information desk.

Some of these things the church already does and it is my job to find out who and what is already available for you. Next, I will work with the church to provide information and a place that military members can call theirs (such as possibly a small part of a bulletin board and military information in the church information center).

I will be working on getting things lined up for a presence in the church with your help. Suggestions are always welcome. We may not be able to do everything, but our goal is to do as much as we can realistically and feasibly do. Please review and offer suggestions for both yourself and other military members so we can help them concerning these issues.

Please remember we will need to help ourselves, too. I need some volunteers to help at times when we have military families in need. Some military families in the church already help in many areas, so we just need a few more to sign up. Please be thinking what you may able to do in conjunction with our current church members to provide support to the military.

Supportingly,

Terrence L. Farrier
