What It's All About
Not long ago there was
a banner in front of the church, out near the road that
said, "King's Grant Baptist Church... a Family
Place." The staff took a serious look at that phrase
and asked a question, "How are we a family place?"
We certainly have activities and programs for every age,
basically for the entire family: preschool, children,
students, adults and seniors. So, how can we take the next
step?
Meaning of the Phrase
At first glance we
think of putting the family in first place. Not a bad idea
but first place belongs to only one Person... God alone! So,
how can we put God first and emphasize the importance of
making family a high priority? We dedicate the first Sunday
of each month to strengthening the family! So, Family
First means that there is a focus on the family each
first Sunday of the month!
When It Happens and How
It Works
On the first Sunday of
each month, we have a special emphasis on the family during
the 11:00 worship time. It's a great time to teach children
about worship and what happens in big church. Students will
be able to either sit with their families or sit in a
student section! It will be a little different than previous
services at 9:45, but change can be good as we come together
in expectation of God moving through our congregation.
