King's Grant
Baptist Church has recently begun our Deacon-led Team
Ministry, where we have members throughout the congregation
participating in ministry opportunities according to their
passions and giftedness. [ Download
the Brochure ]
Goals:
-
To
effectively organize the faith community of King's Grant
in order to better serve our Lord, our church, our
community and our world.
-
To mobilize
the congregation toward active service to others by
designing opportunities for service that compliments
one's spiritual giftedness.
Strategy:
-
To create
deacon-led ministry teams which take focused approaches
toward effectively addressing some of the specific human
and spiritual needs which are a part of the lives of
staff, members, guest, and friends of King's Grant
Baptist Church.
-
These teams
are encouraged to enlist members and guests of the
church to help in the implementation of these vital
ministries.
Here is a list
of the Deacon-led Ministry Teams:
King's Transporters
This team will minister to persons who cannot provide their
own transportation to and from KGBC services and special
events, including getting to crucial appointments such as
medical or dental, etc. Contact Richard Love or Jamie
Pierce.
King's Uplifters
This team will seek to support, visit and pray for families
in need. They will encourage people by finding out what
various families need and share with other deacon teams to
help meet those needs, interceding through prayer and
sending cards as needed. Contact Nell Turner, Jean Vaughan
or Dave Brosius.
King's Contactors
This is our visitor follow up and community outreach team,
contacting first-time guests who attend our worship and/or
Sunday School, and maintaining an outreach emphasis to new
residents of our community. Contact Charlie Flint.
King's Cooks
This team will provide meals to church families who are in
need due to crisis or an urgent schedule change. This
ministry would allow recipients to be able to address their
family's needs rather than worry about shopping and cooking.
Meals can be provided frozen, cooked or purchased. Meals
shall be provided complete with beverage, paper products,
plastic ware, etc. Contact Paul Garrison or Ted Greene.
King's Carpenters
This is our small jobs team. We want to help those who need
help with small projects but are unable to provide for
themselves. We will work in homes or on autos, providing for
their safety and well being. Contact Ray Kirby.
King's Consolers
We seek to help persons affected by the death of a loved
one. This is a ministry of visitation to the home, funeral
home, funeral service, as well as providing some care items
in this time of need. Contact Vicki Anderson.
King's Connecters
The goal of this team is to assist people to move into
different levels of involvement and commitment in church
life; connecting people to teams, ministries and classes.
