Our mission in Children's Ministry is to
provide an environment of love and acceptance where the
Bible is taught and a spiritual foundation is laid that will
lead a student, in God's timing, into a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition, we strive to
provide numerous opportunities for our students to grow and
develop in their Christian faith.

we have a great format of exciting activity and music.
What can you find at KGBC for kids? Our
Children's Ministry offers...
Sunday
School Information
We provide Sunday School for all children at
9:45 am.
Preschool Children (birth through
kindergarten): All classes are divided according to age.
Each class is monitored by loving adults who care about the
physical and spiritual well-being of each child. We use age
appropriate literature that combines both Bible stories and
crafts. These classes can be found on the first floor of our
Education Building.
Elementary Children (grades 1-6):
There is a Bible Study class for each grade 1-5. Our curriculum offers quality teaching and activities that are age
appropriate and biblically based. Children learn through
games and activities along with small group interactions. We are
committed to giving kids a sequential view of the Bible so
they can better understand how the people and events all fit
together to tell God's story. All children's classes can be found on
the second floor of our Education Building.
Children's Church: All children in
Grades 1-4 are invited to Children's Church, worship that
is designed with children in mind! We combine easy to learn music with a Bible lesson just for
kids. Let kids worship...like kids! Fun music videos with motions lift
hearts and hands to God. Cool arts and crafts bring focus on
the Creator. All of this is to help tell
stories kids can relate to!
Pre-Teen Ministry (grades 5-6):
Something new this year is our pre-teen ministry, currently focusing
on rising fifth and sixth graders. The older children have
special needs that are different from the rest of the
children's department and even different from middle school
students. While this group will be under the children's
ministry, there will be special activities for just
pre-teens, led by leaders with a heart for this age group.
Project PRO
Pre-teens Reaching Out (Project PRO) is the pre-teen
ministry at King's Grant, made up of students in grades five
and six. One fact is that senior adults are a large
population in our society and they are often lonely. We can
meet companion needs but reaching out and getting involved.

Children
in Worship - for Parents
We value families
worshiping together, and we want to make it easier for parents to introduce their kids
to this exciting part of their spiritual journey. Katie will meet
the children upstairs after Sunday School and escort those
in grades 1-4 to the sanctuary around 10:55. They will be
dismissed as a group to Hands On Bible prior to the sermon.
If your kids are sitting with you, they are welcome to come
with us. In "big
church" the children will experience worship through
song, prayer, the Lord's Supper, and through giving. The
children will be in room 17 for you to pick up after the
service.
There are a few things we would like you to
do.
-
Talk to your kids and let them know if they
will be sitting with you or with the children's church
volunteers. If you know
any children that might not be attending with their family,
ask them to join you and your family.
-
Please be patient with your kids. We
recognize that sitting in church can be intimidating,
boring, and no fun for kids so we are going to make this
service exciting and inviting for kids. Let the kids stand
and get their wiggles out during the songs and teach them
how to follow along.
-
Bring a quiet activity and let them be
responsible for the offering.
-
Teach them to ask quiet questions and tell
them why the Lord's Supper is not a snack.
-
And remember, take them to the bathroom
before the service starts!
Prior to the sermon, Grades 1-4 will be
dismissed to Children's Church, but feel free to keep them
if you wish. Teaching your children how to worship
can be a rewarding adventure for everyone since worship is
the only thing we can do for eternity.
We believe that part of the teaching of
children is to teach them about worship. We want to help
your family worship together. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to ask either me or any staff member.
We look forward to hearing how this works for your family.
Blessings, Your Friends at King's Grant
In addition, our children serve in local
mission projects and participate in fellowship activities
throughout the year.
We are here to serve
you and your family. Please feel free to contact us anytime.

Impacting Children with
our Student Mentoring Program
Hello Parents,
Beth and Katie have been collaborating on ways to involve our students in ministry and using their God-gifted talents and abilities. We have developed a
"Student Impact" Mentoring Program that allows for students to be mentored by adults, grow in their own discipleship and leadership skills, as well as provide them an opportunity to mentor the children of KGBC.
Students are scheduled on a rotational basis to work with children in grades 1-4, alongside
our Director of Children's Ministries, teaching a dynamic curriculum. Students
are given roles and responsibilities such as running centers, games and experiments, leading Bible Study and facilitating discussion.
Criteria for students to be involved in the "Student Impact" Mentoring Program are:
- Parent Approval to be scheduled at 11am for one Sunday per month
- Age- Must be in Grades 10-12
- Demonstrate responsibility for their spiritual growth by regular attendance at Worship Service and Bible Study
- Exhibit maturity in words and behavior while working with children
- Communicate promptly with Katie Goodmurphy when they are unable to fulfill their scheduled service due to illness or other conflict
Once we receive parent-approval via e-mail or verbally,
Katie will contact your teen to see if they are interested in impacting the children of KGBC through the
"Student Impact" Mentoring Program. Thank you in advance; this is an exciting opportunity for me, the children and the students!
