Our Mission

Our mission in Children's Ministry is to provide an environment of love and acceptance where the Bible is taught and a spiritual foundation is laid that will lead a student, in God's timing, into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition, we strive to provide numerous opportunities for our students to grow and develop in their Christian faith.

Our Children's Ministry Offers...

Sunday School

We provide Sunday School for all children at 9:45 am.

Preschool Children (birth through kindergarten): All classes are divided according to age. Each class is monitored by loving adults who care about the physical and spiritual well-being of each child. We use age appropriate literature that combines both Bible stories and crafts. These classes can be found on the first floor of our Education Building.

Elementary Children (grades 1-5): This Bible Study for grades 1-5 features a contemporary large group / small group format for 1st Grade, 2nd/3rd Grades, and 4th/5th Grades. We use Promiseland curriculum that offers quality teaching and activities that are age appropriate and biblically based. Children learn through games and dramas along with small group interactions. We are committed to giving kids a sequential view of the Bible so they can better understand how the people and events all fit together to tell God's story. We are also trying to develop kids that are being transformed by Grace, Growth, Group, Gifts, and Good stewardship, or as we simply call them, "The 5 Gs".All children's classes can be found on the second floor of our Education Building.

Worship KidStyle: All children in Grades 1-3 are invited to Children’s Church, worship that is designed with children in mind! Lifeway’s curriculum combines easy to learn music with a Bible lesson just for kids. Let kids worship...like kids! That’s what Worship KidStyle is all about. Fun music videos with motions lift hearts and hands to God. Cool arts and crafts bring focus on the Creator. Attention-holding, life application videos tell stories kids can relate to!

Vacation Bible School

This fun-filled week includes Bible lessons, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks. The morning session is for children age four through children who have completed Grade 5. We've got a great theme this year...

Parents' Letter for Family First

Family First is all about families worshiping together. There are some kids in Grades 1-5 that are not getting to experience a worship service and we wanted to make it easier for parents to introduce their kids to this exciting part of their spiritual journey. Family First will be the first Sunday of every month (starting back up on September 7th). Everyone will meet in the sanctuary at 11:00 and Grades 1-3 will be dismissed to an abbreviated children's worship prior to the sermon. In "big church" the children will experience worship through song, prayer, the Lord’s Supper, and through giving.

There are a few things we would like you to do.

  • Talk to your kids and let them know if they will be sitting with you or with their teachers. If you know any children that might not be attending with their family, ask them to join you and your family.
  • Please be patient with your kids. We recognize that sitting in church can be intimidating, boring, and no fun for kids so we are going to make this service exciting and inviting for kids. Let the kids stand and get their wiggles out during the songs and teach them how to follow along.
  • Bring a quiet activity and let them be responsible for the offering.
  • Teach them to ask quiet questions and tell them why the Lord’s Supper is not a snack.
  • And remember, take them to the bathroom before the service starts!

Prior to the sermon, Grades 1-3 will be dismissed to Children's Church, but feel free to keep them if you wish. The sermon will be appropriate for kids of all ages – even parents! Teaching your children how to worship can be a rewarding adventure for everyone since worship is the only thing we can do for eternity.

We believe that part of the teaching of children is to teach them about worship. We want to help your family worship together. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask either me or any staff member. We look forward to hearing how this works for your family.

Blessings, Ellie Zecchini, Director of Children’s Ministries
