Our Mission
Our mission in Children's Ministry is to provide an environment of
love and acceptance where the Bible is taught and a spiritual foundation
is laid that will lead a student, in God's timing, into a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. In addition, we strive to provide numerous opportunities
for our students to grow and develop in their Christian faith.
Our Children's Ministry Offers...
Sunday School
- We provide Sunday School for all children at 9:45 and 11:00.
- For our preschool children (birth through kindergarten) all
classes are divided according to age. Each class is monitored by loving
adults who care about the physical and spiritual well-being of each
child. We use age appropriate literature that combines both Bible stories
and crafts. These classes can be found on the first floor of our Education
Building.
- For our elementary children (grades 1-5) our 9:45 Sunday School
hour follows a traditional age-graded Sunday School approach. Each child
is in a small group with other children based upon their school grade.
The 11:00 Sunday School hour follows a more contemporary approach to
children's Sunday School. All grades are kept together for the opening
fun time and teaching time and then divided into smaller, age-appropriate
groups for discussions of application. All children's classes can be
found on the second floor of our Education Building.

Parents' Letter for Family First
Our first Family First is almost here and I wanted to tell you all about it! In case you haven’t heard, Family First is all about families worshiping together. There are some kids in Grades 1-5 that are not getting to experience a worship service and we wanted to make it easier for parents to introduce their kids to this exciting part of their spiritual journey. Family First will be the first Sunday of every month. On this day we encourage you to bring your children to the 9:45 Celebration Service. If you are not able to attend, we’ll have the teachers available to sit with the students in a reserved area. Everyone will meet in the sanctuary and Grades 1-3 will be dismissed to an abbreviated Sunday School prior to the sermon. The children will experience worship through song, prayer, the Lord’s Supper, and through giving.
There are a few things we would like you to do.
- Talk to your kids and let them know if they will be sitting with you or with their teachers. If you know any children that might not be attending with their family, ask them to join you and your family.
- Please be patient with your kids. We recognize that sitting in church can be intimidating, boring, and no fun for kids so we are going to make this service exciting and inviting for kids. Let the kids stand and get their wiggles out during the songs and teach them how to follow along.
- Bring a quiet activity and let them be responsible for the offering.
- Teach them to ask quiet questions and tell them why the Lord’s Supper is not a snack.
- And remember, take them to the bathroom before the service starts!
Prior to the sermon, Grades 1-3 will be dismissed to Sunday School but, feel free to keep them if you wish. The sermon will be appropriate for kids of all ages – even parents! Teaching your children how to worship can be a rewarding adventure for everyone since worship is the only thing we can do for eternity. Starting in March, we are going to give you the opportunity to get the kids involved in worship.
At 11:00, we will provide opportunities for Bible Study for adults and children. Our 11:00 Children Alive Sunday School will allow children to participate in large and small group Bible activities. For Adults, we will provide a Family First Forum each month.
We believe that part of the teaching of children is to teach them about worship. We want to help your family worship together. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask either me or any staff member. We look forward to hearing how this works for your family.
Blessings, Ellie Zecchini, Director of Children’s Ministries
